Increase of 3.8% in the robberies in Spain

28 de agosto de 2017

The security locks are certainly the first and most important safety feature of our home. Living in a building will not be enough to prevent break-ins, although it is true that fewer violations occur in flats than in houses or chalets.

According to data provided by the Interior Ministry of Spain, the crime rate in robberies in homes grew 3.8% during 2015. This is one of the worst results in recent years, especially if we compare this figure with the 3.6% drop in criminal offenses. With this background, the department headed by Jorge Fernandez Diaz has launched a plan to try to stop the burglary.

This project includes measures such as promoting self-protection practices or collaboration between the different police and state security forces and those responsible for surveillance of residential complexes. Any measure may be beneficial to try to curb the rise of one of the crimes that most alarm generates. Not surprisingly, since the crisis began have been assaulted more than 150,000 homes, this means a staggering 352 burglaries a day.

If two years ago, in 2014, robberies in homes had grown in each and every community, last year "only" there was increase in ten: La Rioja, Basque Country, Madrid, Galicia, Extremadura, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla-Leon, Andalusia and Murcia. It is certainly quite disturbing data and invite you to take the greatest possible security measures, such as installing security locks.
